This weeks' warm temps sent me to the local beach .For me that is 3 hours SOUTH! I was in search of migrating birds and and waterfowl. Island Beach State park in NJ is a wonderful place and time of year. To me I prefer Spring anfd Fall. I saw small bands of Yellowrumped Warblers, Chickadee, Darkeyed Junkos, Red wing Blackbirds ,for the most part it was quiet. On the bay , Brant, Canada Geese, Bufflehead , Hooded Mergansers, Mallards .Pin tail, and Canvas back ducks.. the songbirds birds and waterfowl were coming in slowly. I also stopped by Edwin Forsythe https://www.fws.gov/refuge/edwin_b_forsythe/ an amazing wildlife reserve. If you are in the area please stop by this amazing Reserve plan to spend the day.
I had come across a large flock of snow geese , then all of the sudden an aircraft flew low and LOUD and the tidal waters and sod banks errupted in Snow geese. I was amazed how many popped up in the air . I did not see them when they were feeding . With the hundreds of birds that flew overhead I remained poop free! Life is good!
This moring small flocks are of Canada Geese are flying overhead in the Poconos... It may snow next week or not..her in the Poconos but Nature is welcoming SPRING early this year!
